To most, it feels as though the center of consciousness/selfhood lies right behind our eyes (as though we are observing the universe from an entity inside our head). This is possibly because sight is our most pronounced perceptual system. Is this not necessarily the case for those congenitally blind or with other perception differences? And how much does the culture we grow up in affect this perceived center of consciousness?
